WHO WE ARE
New Beginnings Aviation Ministry (NBAM), is a c501 non-profit program that actively engages “At Risks” students, low income students, and young adults to the fields of aeronautics utilizing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curriculum. The program started in 2007 as a youth aviation ministry for at risk teenage girls, later expanded to include teenage boys. The program specifically targeted young people of color.
Since its inception New Beginnings Aviation Ministry has been providing “options” for improving academic performance of students by aggressively utilizing education best practices, strategies, Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and Federal Aeronautics Administration (FAA) certified curricula to bring about a positive change in behavior to young people.
In effect, this program has been providing classroom didactics, virtual learning software, “hands on” training utilizing Red Bird Simulators and practical aircraft flying experiences. Indeed, several of these young people have gone on to become military, commercial, and private pilots. Opportunities that were made possible through this program.
